Reading: We are starting our next unit Nonfiction books. We will review text features to help us read/understand our books.
Phonics: We are learning about aw. Examples: draw, saw, hawk, squawk, thaw, sprawl, crawl, etc. Red Words: caught, tough, thorough, enough For Language Arts, we are learning about compound words. Writing: We will continue our informational writing unit. Math: 2.2 We will continue unit 4: Applying Base Ten Understanding. We will be working on adding and subtracting three digit numbers, applying addition and subtraction to solve word problems, solving money word problems, and reviewing bar graph. Math 3.1: We will continue unit 2: The relationship between multiplication and division. This week, we are going to work on strategies for solving multiplication problems fluently. We will also work on the properties of multiplication. Science: We will conclude our astronomy unit. The unit test will be on March 4th. Reading: We are comparing stories version of the same story of different cultures.

We will be working on adding and subtracting three digit numbers. Math 3.1: We will be starting our next unit: The relationship between multiplication and division. This week, we are focusing on reviewing arrays and using arrays to solve multiplication word problems. Science: We will continue the astronomy unit and learn about shadows as well as stars. The end of the unit assessment will be on March 4th. Reading: We'll be learning about how characters respond to major events and challenges in a story.

Writing: We will begin our next writing unit-Writing lab reports. We'll do experime Math: 2.2 We will begin unit 4: Applying Base Ten Understanding. We will work on adding four two digit numbers and adding three digit numbers. Math 3.1: We will review Grade 3 unit 1: Numbers and Operations in Base 10. We will have our end of the unit test on Friday, February 19th. Science: We will continue the astronomy unit and learn about the moon and the phases of the moon. Reading: We are continuing the unit, Bigger Books Mean Amping Up Reading Power. We are continuing to work on using strategies to help us keep track of bigger books as well as setting goals for ourselves in reading.
